Dying To Live… Living To Die…

Friday, October 31st, 2003

“I grew up a fucking screw up
Got introduced to the game
Got an ounce and fuckin blew up!”

That’s from “Runnin’” on the Tupac - Resurrection OST. The new remix is tite with a new pac verse.
Anyway, it’s Halloween and I’m home alone getting drunk by my lonesome. The wifey went to Philly and NYC for the next week on business.

One thing I’ve learned in recent weeks is that men often experience stronger emotion and depression during the fall, I have really noticed this lately and so I guess I should go reflect on myself. :P

Make Your Move

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003

“I got a feelin’,
A nigga could make a killin’,
If he packed up his bags,
and moved to New Zealand,
New Guinea, New York,
you need something new…”
-Casual from the the Hieorglyphics “Full Circle” album.

Damn that’s tite! I had to take a brake from my CCNA labs to jot that down. Peace…

On Hold

Saturday, October 18th, 2003

Well all programming is on hold for a while until I scrounge up another copy of Windows XP SP1 as my old copy exploded into small fragments in my burner. I’m not sure what happened, I was using good Taiyo Yuden media but when I opened the drive bay the Cd fell apart and felll inside the drive so I had to clean it out and surprisingly enough I can still read and burn CDs I just wish my DVD drive was as reliable. Anyway, the reason I need the CD is that I can’t do ASP.NET development with VS.NET 2003 unless IIS is installed which it is not. Time to go study some CCNA.

Damn It & Other Explitives

Saturday, October 11th, 2003

Well yesterday started off as a bad day. I woke up and looked at the clock only to see that it read 6:48AM and I have to start work at 7:00AM. So I started swearing and running around in circles as I threw some nasty clothes on. Then I ran down the street shouting into my cell, “Teacher’s room please!” After they finally connected me I told the head teacher that I would be late and they were laughing at me. I continued running and got to the other side of the street where I waited a few more minutes before hopping into a cab. Then in the clearest Korean I have ever spoken I said, “Jongno 2-ga juseyo!” Followed by a, “Balli ga juseyo!” Which means, “Please go to Jongno 2-ga and go quickly!” However since it was rush hour it wasn’t until 7:32 that I arrived in class. As I opened the door I was surprised to see a very orderly class communicating efficiently, but I just ignored that and began to appologize. One student suggested that I could make it up to them by buying coffee on Monday morning so I guess I will do that. The rest of the day was pretty good and later that night I had dong dong ju for the first time in a long time.

When I got up this morning I decided that it was time and I would finally get a new 120GB Western Digital 8MB HD. So before I ran out the door late for my doctor’s appointment I wrote down the Internet price for the drive so that I wouldn’t get ripped off in Yongsan. Then at the doctor’s office, when he was giving me my weekly needles in the face, he pulled when I think he should have pushed and that caused a nice bit of blood to come out of my face. I eventually got my drive after a while of Sang Hee and I wondering around the old market building in Yongsan. I came home tonight and eventually got everything installed and mounted to my liking and then I loaded up Partion Magic 8 and told it to merge the 2 partitions on my old drive. I didn’t really think it would be a big deal. I had one partition with 68GB of VERY IMPORTANT DATA. Data that would take me months to get back if I could ever get it back, not to mention all of my code. Wel, Partition Magic, being the POS it is had an error and when I booted back in to windows my Partition was mysteriously gone. So I started to swear once again. I am still in the process of restoring all my data, if possible. So don’t expect me to be too productive for the next few days…

Disgusted…

I’m beginning to hate this city. I come home at night after working my ass off all day and what do I have to deal with? People walking directly into people trying to exit the subway and the station, rows of schoolgirls 3 or 4 deep holding hands and walking casually while everyone else has to go out of there way to avoid them, old drunk men yelling on the street or into their cell phones when it is completely unnecessary. Not to mention the spitting, whining from nearly every woman in Korea, people who double park their cars in front of an alleyway, crazy bus drivers, crazy taxi drivers, people picking their nose and flicking it, crazy motorcycle delivery guys, whores, pathetic guys wasting their money on whores, old women who push everyone around everywhere they go, garbage everywhere I look, nightclub and phone sex advertisers littering the ground with more paper than Korea could ever produce, blatantly ignorant people staring because they see something other than Korean and they get afraid and defencive, and I can’t forget the shitty music blasting out of every store and outside of most stores also.
This is just an abbreviated description of the crap I have to deal with on my way home. Why the hell do people want to live like this?

Busy…

Tuesday, October 7th, 2003

I worked a little bit on the VatoBlog app yesterday. I am in the process of adding more features now that a lot of the bugs seem to be worked out. I also have to change the layout a little bit.
I am also doing some studying for the CCNA which I now hope to take in December. I finished the CCNA Basics course but I still have to review somethings, especially the 802.x standards.
In addition to all that I’m also working on my Korean. I studied for a little over 2 hours today while I was waiting for interviews.
After I was finished with interviews I went to the sauna because I am also teaching a class every other night. Things are always the same at the sauna: old men are spitting on the floor and young guys are blow drying their crotches for what seems to be much too long. I don’t know why people treat the sauna like it is their private bathroom.
I guess I will do something more productive now…

Back Up!

Saturday, October 4th, 2003

Well I think I solved the main problem with VatoBlog and it was really simple. For some strange reason the server didn’t like writing to my VatoBlog.xml file so I simply made a new file, copied the contents an BLAZAM, it worked!
I got my vid card back the other day. Well I shouldn’t say mine, it was a different card but the same model. Bonus is that the new card has a light fan on it and makes my case look cool and blue inside, I might have to buy a window panel for my case.
I’m off to study CCNA! Later…
