Nooooo!

Word on the street (Which street? I don’t know!) is that Dr. Dre’s Detox album has been put on the shelf indefinitely. Damn! While Dre is not the greatest MC in the world, it would be nice to have one more album from him before hangs up the mic.

The last week or so has been a very confusing one for me. There have been a few issues with my family that are not so good but there have also been a few bits of good news here and there. That’s life I guess…

This weekend is my last long weekend in Korea. I’m planning on going somewhere but I’m not sure where yet. Then in 2 more weeks, the wifey and I are going to Cheju Island and then I am leaving for Canada on the 26th.

I have a TON of stuff to do before I go, plus I have to get everything packed and shipped back to Canada. Then I have to get Sang Hee moved into her sister’s house. So much to do and so little time to do it in…

Well Well Well

Not much crackin’ around here. I’m just finishing up my last 2 weeks at work. I should really start packing up my stuff and sending it home because I probably have way more things than I can pack in my suitcases.

I’m working on a student evaluation program for work which is why I have not updated the website like I have been meaning to do. I really want to get this program done in the next day or two, or at least functioning properly, because evaluations are tomorrow. I’m having a major problem deleting the last object from an arraylist while keeping it updated in a listbox. I came up with a theory to fix my problem so hopefully it will work later today when I get a chance to test it out. Actually the program is almost finished. All I have to do is get that code working and then write the printing code, which shouldn’t be too hard. There are a few little tweaks I would like to do but for basic functionality they are not really important. Once I get the program finished I will post the executables and the source code and hopefully a small walk through of the program and the code.

I’m also planning my next computer. I am going to sell my beautiful box in the next week or two so I am planning to build a new box very shortly once I return to Canada. I am currently looking at two websites to buy the parts from:

  1. Dangeo

  2. TigerDirect

TigerDirect looks good because they have a pretty nice selection and free shipping on orders over $200 but Dangeo is coded by a guy I went to university with and they have better prices.

Anyway, time to get back to planning. Later…

Out & About

Sunday, March 14th, 2004

Since I am going to leave Korea earlier than expected. I have decided to get out and see more than I usually do.

On Saturday, Sang Hee and I went to Dongdaemun to do a little shopping. Of course, I couldn’t buy any clothes because I’m too damned big. She can buy anything she wants but I always have to give up because they NEVER have my size. I want to get a jacket and shirt like Kanye West in the “All Falls Down” video. That is an amazing video by the way and of course Stacy Dash doesn’t hurt at all either. After Dongdaemun, we headed over to Gwanghamun/City Hall because there was a big protest against the impeachment of President Roh. Since I had never been to a protest in my 3 years here, I thought I should check it out since I’m against what happened. It was kind of interest and I got some good photos. Then we went back to Sillim and had some good pork and some alcohol served in a bamboo pitcher.

On Sunday, it was White Day, another Valentine’s Day type thing. Sang Hee got up early and went to church then we met up later and went to the World Cup stadium and Sky Park. Once again I got some really good photos, so maybe I will put them up later. There is a nice theater at the stadium so we saw Big Fish which was really good. Once again, Tim Burton does an excellent job. After that we went back to Sillim and had California rolls at Cali Roll. They were pretty good, but I couldn’t eat them very often. We went home and watch 21 Grams which was almost as good as Big Fish but not nearly as good as Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s other famous movie, Amores Perros.

Anyway, time to get back to work. Later..

Big Update!

What up?!?!

I gave my resignation this week. It was a tough decision, but I felt like it was time. I really want to get an IT job in Canada. I need a real career and I want to work hard and be rewarded for it. I work hard enough now but there is no where to go from here.

There are no hard feelings, I really enjoyed working here. I told my superiors that my last day would be March 31st but they have asked me to stay until the middle of April and I have agreed.

A large part of my decision was based on the fact that I am going to have a hard time with employers takin me seriously when I am half way around the world. So I will be leaving here around the end of April.

I just finished a little programming on VatoBlog. Once again, it is not client end stuff, more admin stuff that was desperately needed so I hope to do a little bit more tomorrow and get Beta 3 up by Sunday.

Korean politicians just get dumber and dumber. Today they voted to impeach President Roh Moo-hyun after a 2 day fight in parliment. This might sound like a pimp but, “”This better not mess with my money!”” I hate politicians, especially Korean ones that only care about getting more money to buy their spoiled children more brand-name clothes and hand bags.
