Cut Off

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

So I am about to unplug my DSL and send the modem back. Thus ends my days of 200KB/s upload speeds. I could cry.

I probably won’t be posting that much or on MSN that much for the next month or so. In the meantime, you can email me at gabrielsond@gmail.com.

Peace

DJ Quik - The Maze

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

So, I typed these lyrics out because this is a tight song and I coundn’t find the lyrics elsewhere.

Then, I found out that ohhla.com didn’t want them because they aren’t “official” enough.

So, enjoy the lyrics for “The Maze” by DJ Quik from the “The Trauma - Mixtape” and probably from “The Trauma” retail but fools are too blind to see.

Artist: DJ Quik
Album: The Trauma
Song: The Maze
Typed by: gabrielsond@gmail.com (www.vatoland.com)

Verse 1
Bloods kill blood, Crips kill crips
Mexicanos kills bloods, Everybody trips
The weed ain’t workin, So we all take sips
Road rage, 9 millis, 7 in the clip
L.A., L.A. where have you gone
It used to be a time when we had it full grown
Now its, more killin’ like its no more chillin’
Worry ex-dope dealers, paranoid villians
Pissed off nigga shoots the shit out of a kid,
gunnin’ at the cops til they open up his fuckin’ lid.
We ride or die til we really fuckin’ die
You know hes goin’, you can see it his eyes
So, drink a forty when you hoped he could be saved but
Tomorrow party with a hole up in his braids what?
Ain’t no love up in the city
It’s only hatin’ faces
You should appologize,
That way you won’t catch cases.

Chorus

Verse 2
Now, if you kill a rapper you’ll neva get caught
Yes, I am a rapper and I always fought
I fought for what was right
Now I gotta bitches and niggas hatin’ me because I’m outta sight
And I taste just like castor oil to you
But I’m not a bitter person, pass the rolls to you
Hit the blunt, it’ll pass the spoils to you
Wake yo brain up, that’s what is spose to do
Now, Black Tone keep me off with spruce blonde
I’m a send chicken coup ova there
Cuz Barbara Bird got 2 blocks
I ain’t studyin’ you dumbies cuz I got
2Pac bangin’ off in my cassette deck, I’m a shut up
Gangstas die faster than teachers
And I can see the whole game from under the bleachers
Guess a whole lot of mad rappers walkin’ around Los Angeles
But, I ain’t one of ‘em. I’m just a son of one of ‘em.

Chorus

Really Almost Gone

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

It’s Thursday A.M. That means I have a little over 48 hours left in Japan. I still have to:

  • Take some change to the bank, like $1000 worth
  • Close my bank account
  • Go to the district office and change my wife’s registration card
  • Teach a 2 hour TOEFL class
  • Pack the rest of clothes
  • Finish my downloads
  • Shave
  • Wash clothes
  • Say goodbye to my sister-in-law
  • Take pictures
  • Send my DSL modem back to YahooBB
  • Repair the space shuttle
  • And eat…

There are probably a lot of things I forgot on that list too. Moving sucks.

Almost Gone

Monday, July 25th, 2005

I guess I only have 5 more days left in Japan. I should be making the most of it but I’m not. I still have a lot of packing to do and getting stuff ready to go.

I feel really strange. I don’t really have anything to go to nor anywhere to go. But at the same time, I think I need that right now. The last 8 months have been bad and stressful. I really need some time to zone out and find myself again.

I have been trying to think of a good programming project to work on but I am having a really hard time. I thought about going back to work on the photo gallery or trying to write a bittorrent tracker in .net. I even thought about working on a podcasting system. But I really don’t care about podcasts and the last thing the world really needs is people spreading their ignorance and wasting other’s time. Maybe I will start working on the photo gallery again. Maybe from scratch in ASP.Net 2.0.

On the photo note, I should walk around and take a ton of pictures before I leave Osaka. That’s the best idea.

Repair

Saturday, July 23rd, 2005

So I deleted my blogger template last night and I’m in the process of fixing/upgrading it. I will get it fixed tonight. Gotta go work out and have dinner, then let the coding continue.

Nice Line

Friday, July 22nd, 2005

The other day I finished reading Hybrids by Robert J. Sawyer which is the third in The Neanderthal Parallax Trilogy and a great Sci-Fi novel. Anyway, there is a great line in the book but I don’t know where it originally came from.

“Canada could have had British culture, American technology, and French food. Instead Canada got American culture, French technology, and British food.”

Again, Drinking Is Bad

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

I said it a few days ago and now I will say it again. Drinking is bad.

Don’t drink it may seem fun at first but it really isn’t.

I watched a great Korean movie last night called “눈물” or “Tears“. It portrays an image of Korea that I have never seen and really shows the price some people will pay for freedom.

Again, drinking is bad. And if you watch Tears, you will realize that sniffing gas is worse. Don’t do either.

Hot Osaka Moon

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

This didn’t turn out nearly as good as you can see it from my building. While waiting for the elevator on the 10th floor it looks amazing but my Nikon E4300 can’t capture the same feeling. I really want a SLR but there is no way I can afford it at the moment. So, enjoy this 29C night which feels like 40C according to The Weather Network. Oh yeah, I hate this weather.

I Need To Make One Thing Clear

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Sometimes I make spelling mistakes and have bad grammar.

THIS IS NOT AN ENGLISH TEXTBOOK!!!

I am so sick of people on the Internet criticizing each other for their bad English when that is not the real topic. I can understand it if you are angry when people type in constant slang and abbreviations but if someone is just commenting don’t worry about perfect grammar.

I’m through with arguing on the net. It’s pointless. So I’m not posting unless its here or on a friend’s site.

Recovery

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

“That?s why I had to stop drinking/ cause when I start drinking, is when I stop thinking” - Promoe from “Long Distance Runner”

Drinking is bad. I used to hate drinking. Then I liked it. Then I just drank because. Now, beer tastes like crap to me. It used to be really refreshing, maybe that’s just Canadian beer. Anyway, I used to hate going to the liquor store and wondered why Canada didn’t have liquor at the convenience store like the U.S. Now after living in Japan I realize how bad having alcohol everywhere is. It’s hard to look down a street without seeing a beer vending machine, a booze ad, and/or a convenience store that sells booze. Everyone drinks. It’s not nice seeing drunk people passed out in the street at 7AM. Booze is bad.

I haven’t felt good lately. So here is my plan for recovery:

Step 0: Stop drinking
Step 1: Get back to Canada
Step 2: Relax and stop stressing out over everything

Looks good to me. Of course there are some things missing, but you get the general idea. I’m homesick.
