Doesn’t Matter If Kanye Is Gay Or Not…

Sunday, August 28th, 2005

So, there have been some rumors going around that Kanye West is gay. Sure, dood wears pink shirts, dresses better than anyone else in hiphop, doesn’t always rap about doing women with big butts, and sings more than your average hiphop artist. And you know what, he is one of few artists making original, positive, intelligent hiphop music.

The hiphop scene is full of uneducated, egotistical, ignorant show-offs. I’m often ashamed to be a hiphop head due to how much B.S. is associated with the genre. At least, we are starting to get some “grown” hiphop.

Not Too Long

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005

So I got back to Canada on August 8th at 6:40PM. I sent my first job application on the 10th. I had an interview for that job on the 11th. Yesterday, the 22nd, I got offered the job. Today I accepted the job and I start tomorrow.

I will be doing Java programming for a VoIP company. It seems like a pretty cool place to work so I am pretty excited about it.

I will probably be busy a lot now, but that’s a good thing. It’s time for me to start working hard and start having a real life that has been on pause for the last 4 years.

Pretentious Criticism Of Hip-Hop

Friday, August 19th, 2005

I’ll be honest. I’m very uptight about my music. I love hip-hop and I hate it at the same time. I expect big things from hip-hop. I don’t want to be let down. So, with that being said, let the story continue…

Jin is a great emcee. Not many artists have heart and passion like Jin. Plus he can make an album without resorting to drug and gun talk, which is a very rare ability/gift nowadays.

Jin made a track a little while ago addressing some issues and maybe saying some things about SunN.Y. Now, SunN.Y. has come out with a big freestyle dis back at Jin. Now don’t get me wrong. SunN.Y. definetly has talent and will probably put out a more popular album than Jin on his first release. But the way dood went at Jin was all wrong and in my books, he gets nothing for that.

First off all, he couldn’t do a freestyle without making talking about guns and drugs. It would have been okay if he had left it to the comments about “Learn Chinese” and how it is better to learn Spanish but he couldn’t leave it at that and he got stuck repeating the same gangsta garbage over and over again.

Also, there was no common ground throughout the track. He dissed Jin for not selling records and making weak songs. That’s fine but even Jin has commented on that already so he isn’t saying much new about the topic. Then he just said whatever he could think of without really keeping to a topic. Sure it was a freestyle, but I’m sure he had most of his content about Jin prepped.

I don’t expect Jin will come back at him; it’s a dis that doesn’t need to be done. But if he does come back, I expect big things.

Now for my own dis. If SunN.Y. is so hot, why did he have to sign with JD. Sure JD makes hits, but not good and/or long lasting ones. When you think of JD, you think of Kris Kross and Bow Wow. Good luck SunN.Y.

Big Mouth

Here is a great picture that Jerkson took down by the ferry in Yeouinaru, Seoul:
Actually the picture was of the wife and I but I cropped that part out so it would look better by itself and this is what remained. Good work Jerkson!!!

(Not) Missing Japan

Sunday, August 14th, 2005

So, I started watching my favorite anime series again yesterday, DearS.

I realized that the DVDs are out now, well at least all of them are in Japan. Only the first one is out in North America. DVDs are outrageously expensive in Japan and it is no different for this series. Check this out. That’s like $300 for 1 season. Ridiculous! I think I’ll just rent the DVD’s here and you know what…

Anyway, the point is that watching DearS again has reminded me of the little things about Japan that I like. Not enough to make me actually want to live there again though. I would much rather live in Korea.

Not Much Is New

Saturday, August 13th, 2005

Well I have been back in Canada for nearly five days now and not a whole lot is new.

I had a job interview 2 days ago. It didn’t go all that well so I don’t expect to get it.

I bought a cheap region free DVD/MPEG4 player so I can watch all my asian DVDs and tons of DivX/XviD CDs.

I ate some good food.

But other than that, not too much is new here. Saskatoon is almost exactly the same as a year ago. Which is disappointing to me because Seoul was so different after one year, well maybe 2 years.

I am thinking of writing a GoStop game in English. I will probably do it in C# and DirectX.

That’s it. I’m tired of writing one line paragraphs.
