So I just setup this DI-524 router for testing at work. It works super nice, especially after playing with Linksys RT31P2 and not getting very far with it. The Linksys was so bad that I was able to attach a Grandstream HT486 phone adapter to it, place a call to a PBX, connect to the extension, and still hear the voice prompt from the initial menu on the PBX. Wow…
Anyway, the next time I buy a router I’m gonna get a D-Link. I was able to get this thing config’d with a static IP and 2 VoIP ATAs with port forwarding to their web interfaces in under 10 minutes. Nice…
Hey!!! I’m back in Asia… Joke…
I installed a bunch of web programming tools so the site is running WordPress 1.5.2 now. I have already imported my Blogger content and I may work on importing my old VDot content. I miss VDot… because I’m a nerd and nerds miss old, deprecated software.
Wow, I almost missed a comma in the previous paragraph! What kind of ex-English teacher in Korea am I? Yeah, nerds also refer to themselves as ex-English teachers in foreign countries. But how many nerds can say they have taught in Mexico, Korea, and Japan? I’m almost a super nerd.

My blog is worth $0.00.
How much is your blog worth?
I’ve been programming full-time for nearly the past 3 months. I just started thinking about how much fun it must be to be the programmer who has to develop low level advanced network protocols with built-in and optional compression, error correction, and security. WOW! That’s an amazing opportunity. Yeah… For real.
I’ve purchased 3 MP3 players to date… All of them have been iRiver and I have been quite satisfied with all of them also. I love my H340, but too bad it doesn’t have TV-Out.
Anyway, this is going too far.
So, I found a potentially cool Firefox tip this morning:
Like you, I love Firefox for many reasons, including popup blocking. So over the last few weeks I?ve been surprised to see occasional popups.
It turns out that some clever people figured out that you could launch popups from Flash, getting around the Firefox default settings.
Fortunately, you can get around it:
- Type
about:configinto the Firefox location bar.- Right-click on the page and select New and then Integer.
- Name it
privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins- Set the value to 2.
The possible values are:
- 0: Allow all popups from plugins.
- 1: Allow popups, but limit them to
dom.popup_maximum.- 2: Block popups from plugins.
- 3: Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.
