Reflections 2006

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Remember that time I was at the onsen resort in Kyoto prefecture and I was waiting in line when the kid in front of me and asked,
”日本人ですか?”
And I said,
“いいえ!”
And he said,
”日本人ですか?”
And I said,
“いいえ!”

Well, you shouldn’t remember that because those are my memories, not yours! And that was 2005 not 2006. Well, better luck to me next year.

Merry Xmas!!!

Here you go, the best SNL skit in years and it happens to be NSFW, uncensored, and holiday themed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dmVU08zVpA&mode=related

My computer almost f$&#ed up tonight, I think I have bad luck with reboots. About a week ago, I decided to reboot because it was more than 3 weeks since my last reboot. I had to reboot tonight because my explorer was acting funny, right click was all messed up. So I rebooted and the ASUS voice said “CPU overclocking failed”. So I rebooted again; same thing. I turn the PC off, turned off the power supply, and disconnected the power cable. I though the BIOS probably had some bad data in it. Then I went Xmas shopping. I came back like 90 mins later. Start up the PC, over and over I hear, “System CPU test failed”. I started to freak. About 14 months ago, my Shuttle XPC died after a reboot so I have bad memories. I disconnected all the cables and opened PC. Then I decided to see if I could see anything wrong when I powered it up. Everything was fine and it booted up. Stupid ASUS mobo… Annoying as hell!!!

RIP James Kim

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Today the body of James Kim was found.

I have been following the story since it first developed. It is an unusual and sad story. I can’t imagine how he must have felt during his last hours trying desperately to find help for his family who had been already rescued. I feel for his family and take away a very good lesson on life from this unfortunate incident. Hopefully, his children will grow up knowing how much his father loved them and understanding that he gave his life in an attempt to save them.
