The Glorious Birth Of Kim Jong-Il
Friday, April 27th, 2007I’ve Been Thinking About Linux & Windows
Sunday, April 22nd, 2007Seeing that the final version of Feisty Fawn, Ubuntu 7.04 is out, I have been seriously considering if I can make a full time switch to Linux again. One of the major reasons is games.
I have a crappy, old, Chinese/Japanese, no-name, likely reverse engineered, nVidia GeForce FX 5700LE AGP 8x card. I don’t expect much out of the card. While I was living in Osaka I built a pc and the original card I bought was a crappy, old, Chinese/Japanese, no-name, likely reverse engineered, ATI 9800SE or something to take affect. Then it overheated and the company replaced it for free after my wife spoke to the company with her very limited technical japanese vocabulary combined with mine. I have been much happier with nVidia cards than I have with ATI cards although I have never been really impressed with any video card I’ve had.
This leads me back to Ubuntu. My love for wanting to switch over to Linux is excelled by the fact that nVidia has fairly decent Linux driver support compared to that of ATI’s. This is great, but I still can’t play every game that comes out without dual booting. The thing I hate most about PCs is booting and rebooting. So I really don’t want to leave a great, open source, desktop OS like Ubuntu to play a game which may be as short as 5 or 10 minutes. I am not going to give up my occasional gaming at this point so I may have to give up on Ubuntu again at this point.
Coming Soon? How I would like to see Microsoft kill its real competition, Mac, embrace Linux.

Saturday, April 21st, 2007I have been away from Korea for quite a while now. I remember when my life used to be Korean newspapers to assist me in my day to day advanced level conversation classes. I am so glad I am no longer a slave to the limited English media in Korea.
This is what happens when you are. I used to read his blog all the time. Now, I just read his tabloid section because it so political and Korean politics are like fights in an elementary school boys washroom.

Evidence’s “The Weatherman”, Most Slept On Album 2007
Saturday, April 14th, 2007The other day I posted about the video on youtube for “Mr. Slow Flow”. So you should have already had a chance to check it out, but you probably didn’t.
Evidence’s first solo effort is possibly the best modern west coast flow in years, but will likely not be the most popular west coast album of the year. This is due to lack of promotion amongst many other things in my opinion. “Mr. Slow Flow” could have been a big track! The video begins with Ev waking up and directly rolling up “an eight in a spliff” adding, “… some call that a problem, but I call that a gift” and then tagging over some large tags with a very basic, handwritten tag of “Mr. Slow Flow” in various places around L.A.
Who is not feeling a slow flow like that, especially when over the video?
Go buy “The Weatherman” and support the best west coast hip hop album of 2007 and possibly the best overall hip hop album of 2007.
Forgive me for being early to judge but last year was weak. I don’t remember any amazing west coast hip hop albums from last year at all!
